On behalf of the Artificial Intelligence in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Singapore (AIGES) study group, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the inaugural International Digestive Endoscopy Artificial Intelligence Symposium (IDEAS) 2023.

The AIGES study group was set up to promote cross-institutional research and development of AI technologies in Gastroenterology. It comprises medical professionals and researchers from the different healthcare institutions in Singapore, and includes hospitals and universities. Through our collaborations, we aim to evaluate the use of such AI technologies in Gastroenterology, as well as develop new algorithms to meet changing clinical demands.

In addition to research activities, AIGES aims to engage Clinicians and patients as AI technologies find their way into daily clinical practice.  The group is committed to improving the standard of care in Gastroenterology through the application of AI in Singapore, and contribute to advances in the knowledge and development of such technologies on a global scale.
